Control Union Japan Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Tokyo) is pleased to participate as a supporting organization in the seminar hosted by Solidaridad Japan on August 24, 2026:
“Solutions for Scope 3 and FLAG Already Exist: Scientific Identification of Priority Sourcing Regions and Collaborative Implementation.”
At the event, Sachiko Kirishiki, Auditor of the Certification Department at Control Union Japan, will deliver a presentation entitled:
“Introduction to the Regenerative Agriculture Certification Program, regenagri.”
In recent years, businesses have been increasingly expected not only to address Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions in the Supplychain but also to incorporate biodiversity conservation and natural capital considerations into their sustainability strategies. Against this backdrop, Regenerative Agriculture, which aims to improve soil health, enhance carbon sequestration, and restore ecosystems, has gained significant global attention.
Through this presentation, Control Union Japan will introduce the latest developments in sustainable supply chain management and certification, highlighting how the regenagri certification program can support practical approaches to Scope 3 emission reduction, natural capital stewardship, and long-term supply chain resilience.
Global Momentum Behind Regenerative Agriculture
Regenerative agriculture is gaining global recognition as an approach that goes beyond reducing environmental impacts to actively restoring natural capital, including soil health, biodiversity, and water resources. As a result, its adoption is expanding across the agriculture, food, and textile sectors.
In particular, the textile industry relies heavily on agricultural raw materials such as cotton, wool, hemp, and natural rubber. Consequently, the way these materials are produced has a significant impact on the environmental footprint of the entire value chain. In recent years, brands and retailers have faced increasing pressure to reduce environmental impacts across their supply chains, driving growing interest in raw materials sourced through regenerative agricultural practices.
The Role of regenagri Certification
regenagri is an international certification program that provides independent, third-party verification of regenerative agriculture practices, helping organizations demonstrate their commitment to sustainable and resilient agricultural systems. The program covers a wide range of agricultural commodities, including cotton, wheat, coffee, cocoa, vegetables, and livestock products, and supports traceability throughout the supply chain, from farm to final product. Today, regenagri-certified products are increasingly available in global markets, including: – Apparel products made with regenagri-certified cotton – regenagri-certified coffee – Agricultural and processed products sourced from regenerative farming systems As demand for sustainable sourcing continues to grow, regenagri is gaining recognition as a trusted certification that supports corporate sustainability goals and responsible procurement strategies while promoting transparency throughout the supply chain.
