水産養殖管理協議会（ASC）の水産養殖基準およびASC Chain of Custody（CoC）基準は、企業や組織が養殖魚を責任ある方法で生産されたものとして促進し、識別する事を支援します。CoC認証プロセスは、製品すべてのトレーサビリティを確保するため、養殖場から食卓までの全工程をカバーしています。Control Union Serviceは、ASI（Accreditation Services International）からASCおよびASC CoC認証プログラムの認定を受けています。

    About the certification

    The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) was founded in 2010 by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Dutch Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) to provide a world-leading certification programme for the aquaculture industry. It covers a wide variety of aquaculture processes globally, and considers both the environmental and social aspects of farming to ensure responsible production. An ASC certified product must also be certified to the Chain of Custody (CoC) standard. This provides rules for the purchase, processing and sale of certified ASC products.

    ASC standards cover the following principles:

    1. Legal compliance (obeying the law, the legal right to be there).
    2. Preservation of the natural environment and biodiversity.
    3. Preservation of water resources.
    4. Preservation of the diversity of species and wild populations (e.g., preventing escapes which could pose a threat to wild fish).
    5. Responsible use of animal feed and other resources.
    6. Animal health (no unnecessary use of antibiotics and chemicals).
    7. Social responsibility (e.g. no child labour, health and safety of workers, freedom of assembly, community relations).

    Accreditation

    Control Union Services, is a certification body that carries out inspections, audits, verifications and certifications of various programs. It is accredited by ASI (Accreditation Services International) for the ASC and ASC CoC program.
